The LDS Church has often repeated that, “Principles compatible with the gospel are found in the platforms of all major political parties. While the Church does not endorse political candidates, platforms, or parties, members are urged to be full participants in political, governmental, and community affairs.”
This is what inspires the members of the LDS Democrats Caucus to be active in politics, and in particular, to be active in the Democratic Party. We feel that the Democratic Party is where our spiritual and political values most easily align. We are Democrats because of our strong LDS faith. Click through these Issues Pages to see what a few of our caucus members have to say about why they joined and their positions on various issues.
The LDS Dems Caucus, like the Democratic Party, is a big tent. We are proud that we are a home for LDS Democrats who are conservative, moderate, liberal, and progressive. We even have Republican members. As a big tent, we are a living example of the power that is achieved when bipartisanship, compromise, and tolerance of ideas are put before limited, specific visions. Think you’re not a Democrat? Click through these pages, and we bet you’ll find more than a few things that you agree with!
